/dev/haag is a monthly meetup in The Hague that aims to bring together coders, hackers, artists, designers, UX specialists and other 'makers' from The Hague and beyond (more: http://www.devhaag.nl/about/ ). Doors open 16h30, talks start 17h.
This meetup will about geographical information systems and the web. If you're interested in mapping (open) data on the web using OGC-compliant (Open Geospatial Consortium) products and/or javascript libraries like d3.js, then this is the meetup for you.

The program is as follows:
- "OGC products and the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute" by Maarten Plieger from the KNMI
In late 2012, the KNMI has launched a new repository with open meteorological data ( http://data.knmi.nl ). In the background, they have been working on various related projects such as the ADAGUC web viewer and a way to provide time series data through web services. Maarten will give you an introduction to OGC-compliant products and he will demonstrate some of the work that the KNMI is doing in the area of web mapping and web services.

- "The latest and greatest in web services and Javascript libraries" by Simeon Nedkov (@SimeonNedkov (https://twitter.com/SimeonNedkov))
Simeon will demonstrate some of the latest tools and libraries for web mapping. In particular he will demonstrate how you can use the PDOK (Publieke Dienstverlening Op de Kaart: http://www.pdok.nl ) maps (i.e. WFS services) and visualize these using OpenLayers and d3.js. Also, he will demo a number of platforms -such as MapBox, CartoDB, FeatureServer, and the OpenGeo Suite- to publish your own maps (tiled or WFS) online.
