Milan Dobeš's belongs to the absolute top of world constructivism and kineticism. You will see paintings, kinetic objects, optical reliefs and illusions, and other graphic creations from the 1950s to present day, as the artist is still active at the age of 94.
So called Expo was built in 1958 as part of the Czechoslovak pavilion at World Fair Expo held in Brussels. The pavilion became a sensation. It was awarded the Golden Star, as well as thirteen other awards. After Expo, the building was dismantled and transported to Prague, where it was re-assembled in Letenske Sady. In the 1960s there was a restaurant and its terrace offering the visitors a unique view of the city became a popular place. Expo 58 is now an exhibition hall and this gem of mid-century architecture is listed as a cultural heritage site.
