The Los Angeles WordPress Meetup will be returning to the Hollywood WeWork location for a discussion with our good friend George McKinney who is on the front lines of some of the newest Virtual Reality tech out there.
In the first half of the evening George is going to show all of us how to transform a WordPress website into a 360 degree image viewer with a few clicks of a mouse. With these tools, you can create immersive stories like the ones on the New York Times, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr. With relatively inexpensive cameras or a friend with some 3D software, you can create, manage and tell your story with this new digital tool in WordPress.
During his presentation, he will show all of us how to use Samsung's Gear 360 camera to record 360 images for WordPress. These experiences can be viewed on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Samsung Gear VR, your website and other Google Cardboard compatible devices.
During the second half of the evening, you will be able to get some time hands on with various VR headsets that can be used to experience the virtual reality content that was created during the first half of the evening.
