Hey Everyone, another meetup coming up!! One more detour from all things Ethereum, but we'll be jumping back on the Ethereum train next. Excited to announce we'll have Ryan from Bitshares. Here's a blurb from Ryan:
"
BitShares claims many “the first” or “the oldest” in the public blockchain space. Join Development Coordinator Ryan R. Fox for an AMA discussion about the BitShares decentralized financial services protocol. If you are interested in De-Fi, on-chain governance or stablecoins, or cross-chain interoperability you will enjoy the discussion.
Trust me, this is not a sales pitch; the platform launched in 2014, so no IPO hype here. This is an opportunity to get to know your local BitShares guy and learn more about the protocol his global decentralized team implements. He will start with a brief overview to set the context and introduce the concepts, then open it up for questions and demos. He can go quite deep technically on the consensus protocol (DPOS), curated smart contracts, hierarchical authority account model, stablecoin mechanics, governance and the cryptoeconomic incentives, security and scalability.
