For July we're excited to have John Baluka speaking to us about the value of open source. After the presentation, we'll open it up to discussion. This event is for any aspiring or current developers interested in open source, but all are welcome!

About the Presentation

What does it really mean to be a Full Stack Developer? Open Source -- Developers hear about it a lot. What should you really look for and why? For example, I choose to study nopCommerce, a .NET eCommerce solution, which has a familiar architecture, a plug-in model, and an active community. This is a fast paced walk-through of the nopCommerce architecture and source code, as well as, how this solution evolved from using ASP.NET to ASP.NET Core. More importantly, you will discover what it really means to be Full Stack Developer the many ways to get involved with any other open source software to better your career and life.

About the Speaker

John has been developing software with the Microsoft stack for 20+ years. For most of the last 10 years, John has been a sub-contractor, business owner, and a Dad. John enjoys researching and applying new technologies to real world examples.
