IMAGINARY (https://imaginary.org/) is a non-profit organization (German gGmbH) for the communication of modern mathematics. It offers a platform for open and interactive mathematics with a variety of content that can be used in schools, at home, in museums, at exhibitions or for events and media activities. The main contents of IMAGINARY are its interactive programs and its picture galleries.

Christopher Lukman, Project Management & Communication of IMAGINARY will present I AM A.I:

"I AM A.I., an AI exhibition developed by our team at IMAGINARY, was supposed to open in Heidelberg at the Mathematik-Informatik-Station (MAINS) in April 2020 and visit Kaiserslautern and Jena throughout 2020/21 but then came Covid-19. Needless to say, the pandemic has made it very hard to plan, organize, and visit exhibitions. Our decision to launch a digital format (www.i-am.ai) ahead of the actual opening that was postponed to May 2021 turned out great for us. Not only did we deliver a website that satisfied our stakeholders and ourselves but we also received some attention in the German AI scene and educational institutions with the lucky effect that we were asked to hold various workshops for the Goethe Institute.

In my talk, I will sketch the not yet completed journey of I AM AI from my own perspective as well as the problems and hardships we met. I will also talk briefly about my background in cultural studies and how I think STEM communication should go together with communication from the humanist disciplines."
