Build Your Own Pinhole Camera Then Shoot and Develop a Pinhole Photo
Details
*** PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION FOR IMPORTANT DETAILS REGARDING THIS MEETUP***
This Sunday, April 26th is the annual Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. Pinhole photographers from around the world will be shooting pinhole images on that day. This will be CPG's third meetup for WPPD and should be the best one yet. We will be meeting at The Light Factory at 10:00 am where we will build our own pinhole cameras, then we will go out and shoot our images (and grab lunch). After shooting/lunch we will reconvene back at The Light Factory where we will head into the darkroom to develop our photographs.
WHAT YOU CAN BRING IF YOU HAVE IT (We will provide any supplies that you can't bring but if you can bring some or all of these, please do)
• A container that can easily be made lightproof. Oatmeal cylinders with lids, coffee cans with lids, paint cans (unused) with lids, cigar boxes are all good examples. We will be using 4" x 5" Harman Direct Positive Paper as our light sensitive material ("film"). It can be cut if you want to use a smaller size container like an Altoid tin, but we'd recommend something that can house the 4" x 5" sheet of paper as you will likely wind up with a better image.
• Scissors
• Xacto Knife
• Black Construction Paper
• Ruler (with millimeters)
• Sandpaper (fine, very fine, extra fine grit)
• Very thin brass shim material or a clean empty soda can.
If you already have a pinhole camera or cameras, please bring it/them to shoot with and to show to the group. If you have photographs that you've shot with pinhole cameras, please bring them as well.
