Learn and Teach Coding for Mid / High school Aged Kids (SF spring break) FREE

Details

• We are meeting at 42 Silicon Valley--an amazing start-up space--for a (free!) Hackathon for teachers. For complete beginners to codeNinjas, this meetup is for anyone wanting to learn and be able to teach coding to kids, but is best for people who teach 11 - 16 year-olds.

We have studied as many educational platforms as we can, and found our favorites. In this meetup, the first 20 minutes will be a group discussion, followed by four hours of interactive, activity-based instruction learning codeWorld, an awesome mathematics-based coding platform in which you will create artistic drawings, animations, and video games starting from a blank canvas using an algebra-based coding language, (Haskell). (Check photos for examples of student work).

We'll end with a two hour hackathon where you put your new skills to work and create a program to share.
Please come-- we already love you for caring about kids!

Lunch, snacks, good prizes, and a t-shirt provided

Only 12 slots available
