Canoe at Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary

Details

The Mass Audubon Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield is a beautiful place with hiking trails through forest, meadows, and marshes. They also rent out canoes for a small fee. Meet at 10 am in the parking lot. We'll arrange for the rentals (2 or 3 people per canoe) and walk down (15 min) to the river. Which means carrying your paddle and life jacket, plus whatever you choose to bring along: snacks and water, insect repellent, rain jacket (against splashing), and waterproof bag to store your valuables / camera / binoculars. Need to know how to swim, some canoeing or kayaking experience helpful but not required. Count about 2 hours for the outing. Early fall foliage: swamp maples could be turning red by then.
