Creative Writing - High Peak Scribbling Writer's Group

Details
Are you interested in writing? Always wanted to write, but never had the time/space? Need some inspiration or want encouragement on the writing you are doing?
The Peak Scribbling Writers’ Group is for people who are writing all sorts of fiction and poetry – or who have the aspiration to get started.
More about our group leaders: Melissa Welliver completed an MA in Creative Writing at Manchester University before joining Peak Scribblers in early 2016. Since then, she has completed two novels and is currently represented by the Peters, Fraser & Dunlop literary agency. She likes to write Young Adult, Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Melissa lives locally and bases much of her fiction in the High Peak area.
Sam Nicholls is a local writer. She is relatively new to writing (which she started after eventually escaping a lifetime in the legal profession) and joined Peak Scribblers in January 2017. Sam is currently undertaking the Writers’ Bureau Comprehensive Creative Writing Course. She enjoys writing short stories and is working on her first novel. Sam was also a “winner”, writing over 50,000 for NaNoWriMo 2017.
You can come along and use the creative prompts and activities or work on your own writing. There is time to share your work in the group too.
We also arrange trips to spoken word events and have written and performed our own ‘Ghost Stories for Grown-ups’.
We meet 7.00pm–8.30pm on every other Tuesday at Goyt Wines Valley Wine Bar in Whaley Bridge. Please feel free to join us as little or as often as you like.
The cost per session is £4 to cover room hire and printing costs.
