Private PaaS + Kubernetes + OpenStack!

In this month’s OpenStack Philly meetup, we are excited to have Apprenda and Cisco on hand to talk about PaaS, Kubernetes, and OpenStack!

Come join Apprenda and Cisco as they demonstrate what Private PaaS and Kubernetes bring to OpenStack. They will show off three use cases. First, an application instance scaling and OpenStack (Cisco Metapod), scaling on both the application and infrastructure tiers. Second, using OpenStack to autoscale the platform fabric. Three, the ability to stand up “off platform” services using OpenStack Heat templates.

Presenters:

Chris Gaun is Director of Strategy at Apprenda and loving Kubernetes. He formerly worked as an analyst at Gartner covering public IaaS. Before that, he was a physicist that did computational modeling in quantum chemistry. He lives in Brooklyn with his dog Panda.

Scott Ryan is a Global Cloud Technical Solution Architect at Cisco Systems, working with customers and partners to innovate and deliver solutions. Scott has been working in the technology industry for over 25 years. He is currently working on cloud native application frameworks and cloud security efforts within Cisco and our partners. Scott is located outside Philadelphia, and is an avid competitive sailor who can be found sailing somewhere in the seas when he is not traveling for business. This will be an exciting night.
