June General Meeting - Cloud Computing, Amazon S3

Details

Cloud computing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing) is a new way of providing computer services and applications, which many businesses and individuals are now using. As an alternative to in-house provision of services, cloud computing provides a new way to deliver computer applications.

Our speaker will be Anand Tirumani, an expert in the field, who will explain cloud computing and the Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service) platform.

Anand will lay the ground work on cloud computing before going into some depth with Amazon S3, "storage for the Internet." Some web professionals use this to back up their websites. Anand will explain and demo the service as a real time example so that you or your company can decide if it's a good platform for your requirements.

Doors open at 6:30 for registration. Free and open to the public, the meeting starts at 7 p.m. with a question and answer period (Ask DACS), followed by announcements and a short break. The featured evening presentation begins at 8.

For full details including directions to the Danbury Hospital and parking information visit the DACS website at http://www.dacs.org.
