Uptown Runners First Annual Holiday Party!

Time to celebrate the holidays with the Uptown Runners at our favorite neighborhood watering hole, Fat Cat! We look forward to raising a glass to thank our regulars and welcome many new runners. Never been to one of our runs? No worries - let this be your first! Let’s start getting our running resolutions in order and connect with winter running buddies! Special shout out to Edna for suggesting we gather to celebrate!

6:00 pm - Holiday Fun Run** – Three miles around the neighborhood! All paces welcome!

**I’ll post this run separately so we can easily see who’s planning to come! Note the earlier start time.

6:45 pm – Uptown Runners Holiday Party! Meet in Fat Cat’s front room for the festivities. These include the usual $5 burger, appetizers (compliments of Fat Cat!) including artichoke dip and lemon and red pepper hummus. Fat Cat’s 12 Beers of Christmas Special is underway, so there will be no shortage of holiday beverages to choose from.

7:30 pm – Runner Gift Exchange! If you’d like to participate in the gift exchange, please bring a runner-friendly gift valued at about $10 or so. If it’s something gender-specific (like socks, for example) please mark it as such. We’ll do a Yankee Style exchange, with some swapping involved!

Uptown Raffle! There may even be some raffle prizes, folks! I’ve been reaching out around our nifty neighborhood. Must be a UR member on the RSVP list to win a prize! We’ll pull raffle winners after the gift exchange, and you must be present to win. Got a prize idea? Let me know! A prize to donate? Even better!

Join us early or late, with a gift or not, whether you’ve run with us many times or never at all. Just join us! Looking forward to seeing you all!
