Hi everyone,
At this event, we'll focus on the music of Baroque period. We'll discuss works of Johann Sebastian Bach and other composers of the Baroque era, the changes in the style of composition, and the development of new instruments and the tonal harmony.
We'll listen to excerpts from compositions of the Baroque era and try to find and discuss different ways composers have explored new techniques to write polyphonic music and to develop the harmonic language of the time.
In this session, we'll listen to three pieces, so please don't forget to bring your headphone!
The meetup will be held at the Southbank center. We meet at the main entrance of Royal Festival Hall (next to the Nelson Mandela Statue).
