Functional Fall: Scala by Owein Reese

Our Fall theme will be a focus on Functional Programming called: "Functional Fall." We will have three hands-on presentations in Scala, Clojure, and Haskell.

This month we will focus on Scala and Owein Reese will be building a web app using the Scalatra framework and H2 database.

Functional Fall talks will have a hands-on component where the speaker will guide you to building a database-backed web application in each language. Afterwards, each speaker will talk about a more advanced feature of the language.
