Some thoughts to get you thinking about the month’s suggested theme, “Road Trip”

Who hasn’t at some point in their life taken a road trip—a day in the car cruising through the mountains, along the beach, around a lake—going somewhere specific or just driving around to see where the road will take you? In the car for a day or for three weeks? Road trips come in various lengths, intents and results. Solitary or with family or friends with music coming from the radio, singing along or enjoying the silence.

When I lived in Huntington Beach, I would often get up early and drive to one of the south- facing beaches to watch the sunrise. It was a time when the roads and the beaches were quiet. While many of these were solitary rides, on occasions my friends would come up for the weekend.
