Some thoughts to get you thinking about the month’s suggested theme, “Skeletons in the Closet”

Who doesn’t have a skeleton in their closet or at least a few bones? When I was young, I loved to watch scary movies! The problem was that after I watched them, I was sometimes too scared to go to bed. One movie I can remember watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the 1956 version). To my 9-yearold-self this was really, really frightening. I shared a room with my 2 older brothers. This made going to bed seem a little bit safer. Being they were 13 and 17, they would make better bodies to snatch then mine!

When the movie was over, I dutifully went off to bed. Just as I sat on my bed, a hand gripped my ankle and a ghost came out of the closet moaning. I shot out of the room and straight out the front door to the middle of the street screaming all the way---leaving my two brothers falling over with laughter in our room. While my mother came out to try and calm me back down and at least come back inside.
