We will discuss how to wirelessly connect your Nikon camera and speedlight(s). How to use your Nikon as a flash commander and control multiple speedlights from your camera. The session will cover basic to intermediate Nikon camera and flash settings with live demonstrations of how the two pieces interact and communicate.

Flash placement and use of multiple flashes will be demonstrated, with modifiers or not, on how to achieve quality portraits.

Also: Gels, snoots, grids, umbrellas, vs softboxs and how they affect the lighting of your subject.

A laptop and projector will be used which will allow you to see the shots live and the steps taken as adjustment are made to produce the desired lighting effect.

This meetup will be Nikon centric but flash placement for effect and mood is applicable across the brands. If bring your camera and flash, please remember to label all your gear, the security of your equipment is solely your responsibility.

After the group discussion and demonstration we'll step into the studio with Annie Abanilla (https://www.meetup.com/DFW-Strobist-Meetup-Group/members/19774921/) (Mayhem #788410) to practice what we learned. Speedlights only with a beautiful, experienced and talented model. A great way to add some strobist images to your portfolio.
