This quarter’s council focuses on containerized solutions being deployed to Linux on IBM Z. The event will kick off with IBM’s Program Director for LinuxOne Ecosystem Dale Hoffman, discussing IBM’s new offering for building and deploying a containerized private cloud - IBM Cloud Private. Next on the agenda, the team from FatBrain will talk about their new real-time decision making software. After the break, we have a discussion around the new IBM DB2 Analytics Accelerator on IBM Z Secure Service Container appliance. Maryela Weihrauch will discuss the architecture of the appliance and how it utilizes Docker and IFL capacity. Bob Perih will then talk about Citi’s experiences during the beta of IDAA on IBM Z and the benefits they anticipate running it on IFLs. We are also pleased to have Regis Paquette from Canonical who will be giving an update on Ubuntu and other new announcements from Canonical. Last on the agenda, Len Santalucia from the Linux Foundation will talk about conclusions made from a recent survey completed by the Open Mainframe Project regarding the usage of Linux on IBM Z.
