Evening Stroll in Newbury Park -1 Hr - Meets at Borchard Community Center

Details
Join us for a 1-hour, 2-mile walk around the beautiful suburban streets of Newbury Park for some quick exercise, fun company and a glorious night sky. This event is about socializing and walking under the evening sky and not about serious hiking.
The Hike: Starting from Borchard Park, we make a two-mile loop along neighborhood sidewalks and paths and then end up back at the park. There are some small hills but it's mostly flat.
Preparation: Expect perfect summer evening weather and dress accordingly. It will be after dark so it won't be hot. Wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking the distance. We will be walking paved and streetlight-lit sidewalks and paths. Hiking shoes and flashlights should not be necessary, but bring them if you like. Bring something to drink.
Schedule: This time, this is a one-off event to see how people respond to the idea. If it takes off, it may become a standing, weekly event, every Thursday at 8pm. The event and schedule are open for discussion.
Directions: Find Borchard Park in Newbury Park (the western part of Thousand Oaks). Enter the park's parking lot at the NE corner of Borchard and Reino (190 Reino Rd). Meet at the entrance to the main building (the Community Center). (If you're in the Trader Joes parking lot, you're on the wrong side of Reino.) If you are coming from outside of Newbury Park, take the 101 and exit at Wendy Drive. Take Wendy Drive south a few blocks and turn right on Borchard. Another few blocks on Borchard and then right on Reino, and then an immediate right again into the Borchard Park parking lot.
Dog Policy: Though we love dogs dearly, please don't bring dogs on these events. Sorry!
Late Arrivals: We'll wait for you up to ten minutes past the posted start time if you're signed up and we expect you. Because we wait for you, please be responsible to us and let us know ASAP if you must cancel.
