Let’s run from Forest Park to Flushing Meadows Corona Park!

We will meet inside Forest Park, by the handball courts near the Parks Dept. offices at the northeast corner of the park (in Kew Gardens) - very close to the intersection of Park Lane and 80th Road. Meet us at 10:30am and we’ll head out a few minutes later for our 10-13 mile casual run.

If you would like to join your organizer for the ride to Forest Park from Western Queens, please meet at the front (first car) of the Jamaica-bound E/F platform at Jackson Heights - Broadway - 74th St. at 10:00am. Please be prompt

This run will offer opportunities to drop off at various points to reduce your overall mileage. We will be passing the E/F trains at Kew Gardens - Union Tpke and E/F/M at 71st Ave. We will also be close to the 7 train in Flushing Meadow Park, later in the run.

Our route will start with about 3ish miles of trails in Forest Park, followed by about 2.4 miles to Flushing Meadow Park via Forest Hills Gardens. We will run one lap of Flushing Meadow Park (around Meadow Lake to the tennis center) before returning to Forest Park. The full loop run will total about 13 miles. If you wish to join us only to run the trails in Forest Park, you are more than welcome - feel free to finish wherever is most comfortable for you. Likewise, if you would like to meet us later in the run, please message the organizer to coordinate.

We will not set a minimum pace for this run, but please ensure that you can complete your targeted distance without stopping before agreeing to participate. This is for your safety and to allow other participants to comfortably achieve their training objectives. As a guide, we anticipate that the group will progress at an average pace of about 10-10:30 min/mile. If you are close to this range, please join us. Note that this run will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, we will adjust the route as-needed for safety.
