Details
PLEASE READ: As drivers are added, people will come off the waitlist (info on waitlist below). Current pick up locations are Auburn pnr and Greenlake pnr.
RSVPs close Thursday, September 14, 6:00 PM PT.
This is a quiet trail that takes you past multiple alpine lakes, ending at Upper Palisades Lake. Enjoy beautiful views of lakes, meadows, and the surrounding mountains. We will also take a short detour to Hidden Lake on our way to Upper Palisades.
NOTE: 1. Many trip reports indicate that the trails has continuous elevation gain and loss throughout the trail. 2. This trail does not have views of Mt. Rainier, if that's what you were hoping to see on this hike.
You need to have a downloaded map in case you separate from the group and come prepared as if you were hiking alone.
This hike is moderate and will be at a moderate pace of 2.5-3mph. Group(s) need(s) to stick together.
Please commit to your RSVP, as space is limited. If you can't make it, please change your RSVP ASAP.
Due to trouble finding drivers, everyone will go to the waitlist by default and I will add riders as drivers become available.
Gas will be $30 per person for a car of 4. Be sure to pay your drivers ASAP before or during the trip! Drivers, feel free to tweak this number for your vehicle and passenger count, but please be reasonable.
You alone are responsible for your safety and agree to hold host harmless by signing up.
For newbies, the waitlist is where people are automatically added for events that show 'full'. This allows hosts to make sure people have a driver and can fill a car to carpool. You must answer one of the locations in order to be added. As people drop out, those on the waitlist will be moved to the 'going' list and this can happen in the hours leading up to the event. Meetup doesn't usually send notifications, so you must check back or remove yourself if unable to make it with short notice.
Strict no show policy as this negatively impacts the group.

Seven lakes, seas of wildflowers, summer huckleberries, a bevy of wildlife and a good chance of quiet solitude await you on this seven-mile out-and-back hike. What more could you ask for?
This trail was named for an interesting rock formation called "The Palisades" which towers over the lakes near the trail's end.
Note that the trail is rocky in sections. Sturdy hiking boots are a must. You are the best judge of your abilities. Please plan accordingly.
