African Americans for Humanism (AAH DC) Monthly Meeting

The next AAH-DC meeting will be held on Saturday March 23, 2013, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the Latrobe Room at the Hill Center 921 Pennsylvania Ave SE (entrance on 9th St-elevator access available). The Hill Center is located about 1.5 blocks from the Eastern Market Metro Station. All AAH meetings are free and open to the public. This meeting’s discussion will center on an article from the March/April 2013 edition of “the Humanist” entitled “Rethinking Drug Policy Assumptions” by Jefferson M. Fish. Thousands of African Americans have become casualties and collateral damage in America’s “War on Drugs” to the extent that many feel that it is instead a “War on African Americans.” Is there a rational and humane way to address the drug problem? The April 2013 AAH-DC meeting will not be held because of a special symposium sponsored by the Center for Inquiry scheduled for that day, (April 27th). The subject of the symposium is “Why Tolerate Religion?” and it will run from 10AM till 5PM at the Woolly Mammoth Theater 641 “D” D” Street, NW, Washington DC 20004. Speakers include:
