HTML Day | Freewrite
Details
This event is in person only.
HTML is just writing. You type words, save the file as `.html`, open it in a browser, done. You've made a website. That's the whole trick.
Come spend an afternoon making websites by hand, the old way: no frameworks, no build tools, no drag-and-drop. Just a text file and a browser. Never written a tag in your life? Come anyway. You can write for an hour without touching HTML, or go as deep as you want. Already fluent? Come make something weird and share it.
There's no wrong way to do this. HTML is forgiving by design, it runs on anything, it doesn't break, and every page is readable by anyone who hits "view source." That's the spirit of the old web: open, human, no magic behind the curtain.
This is an AI-free event. Hands on keys, write your own HTML like it's 2003. We can't frisk you at the door, but the whole point is the making, so leave the generators at home and build the thing yourself.
How it goes: show up, quick hello and a short crash course for anyone who wants it, an hour or so of freely writing HTML, then optional sharing at the end.
Bring: a laptop (or pen and paper, writing HTML by hand is great). No accounts, no installs, no experience needed.
Check out the announcement site here if you haven't yet!
