The Grand Hello: A Secular Ceremony (SAM October)
Details
Ritual. Tradition. Ceremony. Are these essential elements of the human condition or are we better off without them?
Join us for a special service and our very first Sunday Assembly ceremony, which will be part of the Changemakers Festival (http://changemakersfestival.org/), “a nationwide celebration of the great work happening in our community” from 17 – 26 October.
That’s right – it’s a secular ceremony, a Grand Hello! to welcome Winnie – the newborn daughter of Katie (https://www.facebook.com/katiemelb) and Ritchie - to the world and the Sunday Assembly community.
Guest speaker is the insightful Dick Gross: author, media commentator, lawyer, and former Mayor of the City of Port Phillip. Not to mention the writer of the fascinating Godless Gross blog (http://godlessgross.blogspot.com.au/)
The event will be hosted by the hilarious and vivacious Catherine Deveny. There will also be live music and free cake! What more could you ask for?
All welcome, invite your friends and family.
Doors open 10:30am for an 11am start.
If you can bring a plate of food to share, that would be amazing. Munchables and hot drinks will follow the event.
Plenty of parking available at the venue which is right next to Collingwood train station.
Hope to see you there!
