Introduction to Blockstack: a technical overview

Details

Fellow Blockstackers, blockchain enthusiasts and tech-curious: we are very happy to announce that we have a Blockstack Meetup in Berlin coming our way in the next weeks! We'll get together at Techcode, right in the heart of Berlin to learn, share ideas on a decentralized internet, engage in some networking and have a few beers together.

Our night will be lead by Larry Salibra, a technology entrepreneur who lives is South China and currently works as an Engineering Partner at Blockstack. He is a founding member of the Bitcoin Association of Hong Kong. His work exposed private data leakage in Chinese Tinder clone Tantan, and how Apple censors apps in China.

At this Meetup Larry and Shreyas Thiagaraj will present an introduction to Blockstack. They will discuss:

  • Why do we want to build decentralized apps?
  • What are the parts of a decentralized app?
  • How do these parts work under the hood?
  • Authentication
  • Encryption
  • Storage

Our agenda at a glance:

18:30 - Doors open // Networking // Beers
19:00 - Blockstack presentation by Larry + Shreyas
19:40 - Q&A
19:55 - Early preview of www.misthos.io by Justin Carter
20:10 - Networking // Beers
20:30 - End

We hope to see you guys there--technical and non technical people are equally welcome :)

[when you arrive: ring the doorbell “Techcode”, once inside go straight ahead with the escalator, then turn left and use the lift D1 to the 3rd floor]
