It started with Bitcoin, in which transactions are verified by network nodes through cryptography and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. New technologies like IoT (Internet of Things) are creating more opportunities for the application of blockchain. At the same time, blockchain technology can help IoT ecosystems become more trusted, autonomous, and valuable.

Practical Blockchain & IoT Meetup in Boston will bring together leading entrepreneurs, researchers, and thought leaders in IoT and blockchain industries all around the world physically to meet, discuss, support each other, and create opportunities for collaboration and entrepreneurship in blockchain and IoT industry. Especially, our honorable speakers include Maurice Herlihy, Professor of Computer Science at Brown University. He is also the advisor for several well-known blockchain projects including Algorand, Ethos, and Taraxa.

The Meetup is scheduled for October 3rd, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, in Boston, which is hosted by Taraxa.

The Meetup is expected to come with over 100 industry blockchain and IoT investors and entrepreneurs, including the popular speakers, scholars, and blockchain practitioners and enthusiasts. It will be a great chance to discuss news blockchain and IoT investing opportunities, share knowledge and learn from each other.

Maurice Herlihy has an A.B. in Mathematics from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from M.I.T. He has served on the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University, on the staff of DEC Cambridge Research Lab, and is currently a professor in the Computer Science Department at Brown University.

Steven Pu is an IoT and healthcare entrepreneur, and also a strategy consultant. He has a B.S. and an M.S. in EE from Stanford University. He was co-founder & CEO of LinkSens Systems; co-founder & Head of Product of EviPath; and the Director in Monitor Deloitte.
