Have an idea, want to make it into something real,tangible, but need some fellow maker input on how to do it?

Or perhaps you've already made it, but now you want to turn it into a business, and you need strategy, go-to-market, funding or other feedback from professionals.

Makersmiths: The Forge is a new program we are trialing; kind of like a Shark Tank for makers.

Each month we host an event. Makers apply to present, and several are selected and announced a month before. We then solicit a panel of judges from our memberships and the our network of professionals. Other members are invited to come watch.

The idea is a combination of stress test for your ideas, collaborative feedback and input from your colleagues, and maybe developing some committed resources for the next step in your project.

1 Are you creating a breakthrough technology?

2 What problem does this solve right now?

3 Describe your ideal customer. How large is this target market?

4 What skill sets do you (your team) have that are crucial for the success of this project?

5 What will the next version of your solution solve have that your current version does not?

6 What will this solution replace?

7 Why is this solution important to the maker movement?
