Lets go to Iceland with a fun group of South Asian Professionals!

Iceland has a bit of everything in winter! Everyone wants a chance to see the Northern Lights and there is no better place than Iceland. Witnessing the aurora borealis isn’t easy so we’ve picked a weekend to maximize your chances. The best viewings are during the winter, near the equinox, and during a new moon and we’ve got all that covered. In addition there is so much more to see and do– walking on glaciers, seeing winter waterfalls, caving through lava tubes, experiencing the original geyser, walking on a black beach and of course relaxing in the famous (and naturally superheated) Blue Lagoon. And lest you’re worried that it’s a bit too much nature our base will be Reykjavik, a pocket sized capital city with an intense nightlife and plenty of museums and restaurants.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Travel to Reykjavik - Friday February 28th

Leave for Reykjavik. Travelers from North America will take a short overnight flight and arrive at 6:30am the following morning. Travelers from the UK will leave in the evening and arrive close to midnight. If they are lucky, they just might see the Northern Lights as they arrive!

Day 2 - Reykjavik and Northern Lights - Saturday March 1st

Today we’ll meet with our group for breakfast and do a short tour of Reykjavik town. In the afternoon we’ll explore the fantastic world of lava tube caves followed by a visit to the world famous Blue Lagoon. In the evening we’ll search for Northern Lights on a bus tour and later enjoy Reykjavik which transforms every Saturday night into winter party scene.

Day 3 - Golden Circle and Northern Lights - Sunday March 2nd

It’s a full day as we travel by coach on the famous Golden Circle which has some of Iceland’s most stunning scenery including Strokkur Geyser, Frozen Gullfoss Falls and Þingvellir National Park. We’ll arrive in town at night with an option to join a boat trip out to sea to search for the Northern Lights.

Day 4 - Reykjavik - Monday March 3rd

A free day to visit the sights of Reykjavik. There are great excursions - the best of which are the waterfalls, black beaches, and Solheimajokull Glacier on the south shore tour. For adrenaline seekers snowmobile and glacier hikes are a perfect active day out. Followed by farewell dinner and drinks to end a perfect trip!

Day 5 - Back Home - Tuesday March 4th

Most of us will have flights in the afternoon so there is time to enjoy breakfast and perhaps all visit the iconic sun voyager sculpture for some group photo’s!
