THE DESCENDANTS picked up a lot of buzz at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. The reasons? George Clooney stars and Alexander Payne (the man responsible for ABOUT SCHMIDT and SIDEWAYS) is at the helm. Not about the American punk band from the 80s, THE DESCENDANTS follows a father (Clooney) who just can't get it together. After his wife gets put on life support from a jet-skiiing accident gone wrong, it's up to him to reconnect with his daughters and figure out whether to keep or sell the family's land. You had me at Clooney.
