Machine Learning with Perl. Speaker: Ruben Navarro

Machine Learning is a type of artificial intelligence that evolved from the study of pattern recognition. Perl has a long history in scientific computing but it has been losing ground to Python, Julia and other programming languages in Machine Learning (ML).

People unfamiliar with Perl might wrongfully think that Perl is not a good option for this field because other programming languages seem to have newer ML libraries but the truth is that Perl has had modules and tools with the same capabilities for years.

In this presentation I will play with cancer data and apply several state-of-the-art algorithms in Perl: Support vector machines, logistic regression, neural networks and so on.
