Jester's Trail (=Flag Mountain)

This is a 2.8 mile hike with an elevation gain of about 1100 feet and considered easy-to-moderately difficult. The first 3/4 of the hike we will cover a very well defined trail. The last 1/4 of the hike that leads to the peak will include loose rock and hiking and scrambling on a section of undefined trail. If you are not up for this last section, you can set up and rest on a nice ridge right below that portion of the hike and wait for the group to come back. On the peak you can find a flag and a book to sign.

We will meet at the parking lot of the Foothills Library, from where it is only about 15 min to the trailhead. A high-clearance vehicle is required, as the dirt road leading to the trailhead crosses a wash and has several rocky and bumpy sections. Estimated length of the hike is about 3 - 3.5 hours, which should be enough time to get everybody back for the Superbowl. :-)
