- OpenStack storage projects and an overview of Open vStorage
Abstract:
During this session we will discuss the current status of OpenStack storage projects and give an overview of the new features in Open vStorage 2.0. Open vStorage (http://twitter.com/OpenvStorage) is an open-source project with a single focus: offer the fastest Virtual Machine storage for OpenStack. With Open vStorage we have built technology which has the features of high-end SANs (performance, zero-copy snapshots, thin cloning) but is also scale-out and low-cost, like object storage solutions. Open vStorage combines the best of both worlds. With Open vStorage you can seamlessly scale your storage by adding more disks.

- cloudSM, a Cloud Service Management Platform for OpenStack
Abstract:
Today there are many public cloud options to choose from, but going with one provider over another inevitably leads to vendor lock-in. OpenStack is an IaaS platform for delivering cloud functionality with your existing private infrastructure that is open and vendor agnostic, but may not deliver as much functionality as other public cloud services your customers consume.
Ostrato (@Ostrato (http://twitter.com/ostrato)):
cloudSM (http://www.ostrato.com/cloud-service-management/) is Ostrato's platform for brokering cloud services by unifying cloud services across providers, including private infrastructure managed by OpenStack. In this overview, we'll review the capabilities of Openstack, and provide some recommendations on how to unify and deliver additional capability on your Openstack-enabled infrastructure, using Ostrato’s new release of cloudSM, codenamed Granite.
Jennifer Galvin:
Jennifer Galvin, the Director of Cloud Solutions for Ostrato, focusing on Cloud and Infrastructure Management. Before joining Ostrato, Jennifer led a team of administrators with her deep expertise in datacenter management, and continued that transformation by joining visionary startups such as VMware, Cassatt and Opsware.
Jennifer was a vital contributor to many successful cloud transformations and services, including those for Bank of America, DISA, Verizon Compute-As-A-Service and SHI’s Managed Private Cloud. She achieved a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University. Jennifer Galvin is local to Washington, DC, where she organizes the Reston Virtualization Group and DC Agile Software Testing meetups.
