MBIT June 2015 : Elasticsearch

The June MBIT Meetup (6/17 @ 7p at Shop.com) will feature a talk on Elasticsearch by Randall McRee of Shop.com.

Elasticsearch is a distributed, scalable, real-time search and analytics engine. It enables you to search, analyze, and explore your data, often in ways that you did not anticipate at the start of a project. It exists because raw data sitting on a hard drive is just not useful.

Elasticsearch provides full-text search, structured search, real-time analytics of structured data, and features that help deal with the complexities of handling human language, geolocation, and relationships.
