Big Basin SP is home to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the Bay Area - and the trail brings you right along-side and below them!! This is the best winter hike around here! This is a CHALLENGING hike for distance, terrain and elevation and attendance is restricted to members who have been out with us on previous hikes. For our returning members, please keep in mind that this is a 5-6 hour hike. If you aren't sure about whether you can complete 11 miles in that time, please choose a different event.

This will be a LONG hike that begins with a steep hike to the Mt MacAbee Overlook. The hike continues to the Berry Creek Falls Trail then returns along Sunset Trail. Pack lunch, plenty of water and enough snacks for sharing along the route. Dress in layers and be prepared for a mix of sunshine and strong cool winds.
