Description:
Join us to share ideas and solutions around mobile web, to learn from experts in the field, to discuss experiences with web and tech managers who've tackled these issues and to find people to help with your projects.
This event brings mobile experts together with the web and IT managers looking to start or expand mobile efforts, as well as web managers who have tackled the transition to mobile and have experiences to share.
How It Works:
Drinks and Introductions: 6pm-6:30
A time for people to get drinks and do a little mingling. We'll then briefly outline the various conversation areas, what they mean, who will be running those tables, etc. Please try to arrive by 6:15.
Informal Conversation Areas: 6:30pm-7:30pm
We will start with informal conversation areas - broadly labeled by topic, level of experience, type of project. You will be standing and chatting - so you can easily move between conversation areas.
Optional Conversation Tables: 7:30pm-8:45pm
For those who prefer more structure, we'll have a series of conversation tables focused on various mobile topics. 6 people per table with one speaker/moderator to guide the conversation. Every 20 minutes, we will chime a bell. You can stay at your current table or move to a new one of your choice. Or you can stay standing and mingle in the conversation area if you prefer.
More networking: 9-9:30pm
More networking and idea exchange.
Other Details:
You will receive a nametag where you can indicate areas of experience and knowledge in mobile. Those looking for help/knowledge will indicate the area of expertise & type of support (consultant, contractors, collaborators, employees).
If you aren't sure which role to pick, just ask (dcwebmavens@gmail.com)!
Who Should Attend:
Mobile experts include developers, usability experts, project managers and others with experience in mobile.

If you don't fall into one of these groups, contact us (dcwebmavens@gmail.com) to see if there is another role we've missed or to learn about volunteer opportunities. If you are a novice in the web or mobile area, this isn't the event for you. Please see our introduction to mobile events later in the Fall.
