Saryangdo Island Hiking

Hello Everyone!!

Let's hike one of Koreas most beautiful island mountains.

We'll be joining our Korean Tour Partners for this hike and it's sure to sell-out.

The cost for this wonderful hike is 50,000 won which includes RT bus and ferry along with a restaurant breakfast of seafood haejangguk.

Bus pick-ups in Nowan, Taereung, Gunja, Jamsil, Bokjeong, and Jukjeon Highway bus stop.

Overview

Another Jirisan (Mt., 398m) which stands firmly in the middle of Saryangdo, "fantastic island". The sight of Hallyeosudo from the top of Ongnyeobong (Peak) and the taste of sashimi after descent make the eyes and the mouth joyful. A fantastic island! Saryangdo has been beautifully reborn.
The sceneries of Saryangdo (Island) once hidden is now open to a number of mountaineers and travellers to seduce them.
By the tourism development performed by Tongyeong-si (city), Daehang beach was set up, cruise ship terminal was newly renovated, and the hike trails once dangerous have been well maintained. Providing improved comfort and safety to visitors, Saryangdo (Island) is now crowded with numerous tourists. Saryangdo (Island) is an island which falls under Saryang-myeon, Tongyeong-si, and is a beautiful island surrounded by Archipelago Hallyeo National Sea Park at the southernmost region of our country. Saryangdo (Island) takes the form of a snake and is named since there are lots of snakes. Or, a legend says that a man died of lovesickness because he could not realize his love and became a snake.
After arriving at sangdo (the upper island) of Saryangdo by crossing waves of the ocean in front of Samcheonpo-si (city), you can see the Jirisan (Mt.) rising high in the middle of the island.
It was originally called 'Jiimangsan (Mt.)' since the vast Jirisan (Mt.) which covers parts of Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do could be seen, and then it was shortened to Jirisan (Mt.). Although it may not be high enough, harmonized with the beautiful sceneries of Hallyeosudo, it provides breath taking sights no less than other noted mountains.
There are numerous paths, but starting from Donjipogu, following ridgeline via Ongnyeobong (Peak) of Jirisan (Mt.) and heading for Jinchon is the best way to enjoy its sincere scenery.
Donji is a picturesque rustic island village among rock mountains and oceans of waving blue current. After your getting out of the village and starting to ascend the mountain, a pebble road comes into view. But along with ocean view, mountaineers would never get bored.
You must be careful not to miss your steps lured by the beautiful sceneries.

8:00 AM SHIP TO ISLAND

8:50 AM START HIKING

the hike is between 4.5 to 7 hours depending on your speed. Any guest can cut-out the last 20% of the hike and not miss any of the beauty of the island. most finish with enough time to enjoy the very good seafood before boarding the return ship.

3:00 PM RETURN SHIP

3:50 pm LEAVE FOR SEOUL

most people will have eaten enough but the bus will make a couple stops on the highway home to catch dinner.

9:00 to 10:00 ARRIVE BACK IN SEOUL

Yes the bus ride is far. Sure you don't like to sleep on a bus. Maybe the price is high. BUT THIS IS SARYANGDO!! YOU'LL REMEMBER THE ISLAND, NOT HOW YOU GOT THERE.
