About us
7thDNA is a neighbor-led gathering space for concerned voters who live in Illinois’ 7th Congressional District and want a clearer, collective voice in how we are represented. We bring together residents from across the district to listen to one another, identify shared priorities, and articulate our interests directly to our elected representative. You don't necessarily need to live in the 7th district to participate in the group. Due to the nature of gerrymandering, district lines split apart neighborhoods, divide wards, and weave and wind across zip codes in the most nonsensical of ways, but that isn't an excuse to not bring neighbors together. Decisions made by our Representatives effect everyone, so every voice, regardless of address, counts.
This is a space for people in the community—not campaigns. We are nonpartisan, non-endorsement-based, and grounded in the belief that effective representation begins with neighbors talking to each other first. Through conversations, listening sessions, and public forums, we work to clarify what matters to people in the district and to communicate those concerns in a way that is informed, constructive, and accountable.
7thDNA exists to strengthen the relationship between constituents and representation—before elections, during them, and after—by helping neighbors show up, speak clearly, and be heard.
