Sea to Sea Adventure-15 miler

Details

Join us for a great fall hike in Topanga State Park. This hike contains all the elements of a very fun hiking day--beautiful ocean vista, green meadows, hills, rocks, long distance, and a fun bus ride down Sunset Blvd. We'll be doing a 15 mile hike through the beautiful ridges and canyons of Topanga State Park.

A 15 mile moderate to strenuous hike(because of the distance and some hill climbing). We'll start the hike at the Los Liones Trailhead and hike along the trail until we trek down into the canyon that leads to the Santa Ynez Trail.

From there we'll hike to Eagle Rock and then on over to the Hub. We'll connect to the Backbone Trail and then down into Will Rogers State Park. A total of about 15 miles.

http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/b/8/8/a/event_56687242.jpegWe'll ride the bus down Sunset Blvd.(another 4 miles) to Los Liones($1.50) per person. Please remember to bring $1.50 exact change for the bus.

Testimonials from a similar "Sea to Sea Adventure" two years ago in October. This might give you a sense of the hike. https://www.meetup.com/TOaks-Hikers/calendar/11067114/?from=list&offset=0

The climbing part of the hike we'll do first and the latter half of the hike will be downhill. Sound good to you?

Directions: Get to the Pacific Coast Highway(PCH 1) from you home. From the Pacific Coast Highway turn onto Sunset Blvd. After about 0.3 miles, turn left on Los Liones Drive. Go back to the very end of the street. I'll meet you in the parking area at the end of the street by the church, but don’t park in their lot. There's plenty of street parking.

Bring at least 3 liters of water, plenty of snacks, sunscreen and a hat.

Sorry, no dogs allowed as this hike includes a portion of the state park system.
