80s Cover Songs: Originals vs. Remakes - Live Zoom Music Club

THEME: COVER SONGS

Join us on Zoom for an evening exploring cover songs with an 80s connection — familiar favorites, surprising originals, and songs that found a whole new life in someone else's hands.

We'll listen to and discuss a mix of 80s artists covering earlier songs, different versions of songs from the 1980s, and 80s recordings that were later covered by other artists. Some became bigger than the originals. Others took a familiar song in a completely different direction.

Along the way, we'll compare versions, share some of the stories behind the songs, and decide which recordings we think did it best.

There will also be opportunities to share your own favorite covers and requests.

New to the group? You're welcome to simply listen. Cameras are optional, and there's no pressure to speak or request a song.
After the meetup, I'll share a playlist featuring music from the evening so you can revisit the songs and comparisons later.
