Live 80s Zoom Music Club: Should’ve Been Bigger

Join us on Zoom for an evening of 80s songs that seem much bigger today than their original chart performance would suggest.

We’ll listen to a mix of rock, new wave, and other 80s favorites that missed the U.S. Top 10, then look at how high they actually charted and why some became far more enduring than their original numbers might suggest.

Along the way, we’ll talk about chart history, MTV, rock radio, changing musical tastes, and the stories behind the songs. Some of the chart peaks may be surprisingly low.

There will also be opportunities to share your own picks for 80s songs you think should’ve been bigger.

New to the group? You’re welcome to simply listen. Cameras are optional, and there’s no pressure to speak or request a song.

After the meetup, I’ll share a playlist featuring songs from the event so you can revisit them later.
