CARRIZO PLAIN & CALIENTE MOUNTAIN -EASTER WEEKEND HIKING & CAMPING ADVENTURE!

Details
CARRIZO PLAIN is a large enclosed plain, approximately 50 miles long and up to 15 miles across, in southeastern San Luis Obispo County, California, about 100 miles northwest of Los Angeles. http://photos2.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/4/f/3/a/event_99860282.jpegIt contains the 250,000 acre Carrizo Plain National Monument, and it is the largest single native grassland remaining in California. It includes Painted Rock in the Carrizo Plain Rock Art Discontiguous District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Here in this remote part of California it's still possible to look out over hundreds of miles of open space and to watch stars spread across a dark sky. If you're lucky, you may even trade glances with a curious kit fox before is ducks underground.
