Acclaimed GRAMMY-winning multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter MESHELL NDEGEOCELLO is a bass player above all else, bringing her warm, fat, and melodic groove to everything she does.

She has earned a Grammy award along with numerous nominations, and has played alongside the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Alanis Morrisette, James Blood Ulmer, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Tony Allen, John Medeski, Billy Preston, and Chaka Khan.

She makes her Blue Note Records debut with The Omnichord Real Book, a visionary, expansive, and deeply jazz-influenced album that marks the start of a new chapter in her trailblazing career. Meshell returns with an album of new original material that taps into a broad spectrum of her musical roots.

She eschewed genre for originality, celebrity for longevity, and musical trends for musical truths. Fans have come to expect the unexpected and follow her on sojourns into soul, R&B, jazz, hip-hop, rock, all bound by the search for love, justice, respect, and resolution. Those sonic investigations have defied and redefined the expectations for women, for queer artists, and for black music for over 30 ears and she remains one of few women who write the music, sing the songs, and lead the band.

We can meet at 7.30 for a drink at Bar Italia. Doors open at 8.30, but we may need to join the queue at 8pm. Then if we join the queue together, they will hopefully be able to seat us together

I bought a £60 priority seating ticket (cos I'm a fan and want to sit close to the stage) but restricted view seats are available from £45 if you don't mind sitting separately. We can always go for another drink together after the show. You can buy your ticket here

Tickets went on sale on 19th June, but will probably sell out fast, so don't hang around!

If this is your first Meet Up group don't worry, I'll try to make you feel welcome and introduce you to other members of the group as soon as you arrive 🙂
