Details
This is the first of a free, three-part, pre-Global Startup Battle workshop series brought to you by Start It Up Delaware. Jeff Cohen, founding instructor of The Starter League (f/k/a Code Academy) has just launched golearntocode.com. He's flying to Delaware to show our community what's possible with HTML & CSS - even if you don't know the first thing about programming, this workshop will introduce you to the basics so that you can be as productive as possible during this year's Global Startup Battle and beyond. Bring your laptop if you want, but it's not necessary. You will be able to follow along and see what Jeff is doing, as we'll be projecting his screen onto the wall. RSVP today, space is limited so grab yours while you can.
What happens at GSB Delaware?
At GSB:DE, ideas will be pitched, teams will form around the most popular ones, and then the rest of the weekend will be spent testing, building, designing, re-testing, re-building and re-designing your business model and a minimum viable product. Whether it's an idea for a new app, a new service or a new product, the goal of the weekend is to launch a company in just 54 hours. The top three teams will be selected at the end of the weekend, after each team has a chance to demo what they've built to a panel of judges. Local winners will be selected, and all teams will who participate will have the opportunity to compete globally for cash and prize packages designed to propel your ideas forward.
Why attend the pre-GSB workshops?
At Start It Up Delaware, we believe in holding events and programs designed to encourage people to challenge their limits and truly learn what it's like to be a builder, because entrepreneurship is no easy task; it is a mindset. It is exciting, rewarding and can be game-changing, but on most days, it is a grind that only a certain type of person can endure. At the end of the day, the last ones standing are founders, co-founders, developers and designers who master the art of executing, are never too proud or too stubborn to pivot, and who take the time to delve in to each facet of the process, even if it's unfamiliar to them at first. We don't just want you to launch a startup in Delaware or participate in Global Startup Battle -- for either or both, we want you to completely dominate. The best way we know how is to give you the opportunities and resources to educate and prepare you for startup life. Even if you can't attend GSB:DE, if you have an idea for a startup, or are currently working on one, or if you are a coach or a mentor to one, or if you are an investor or thinking about investing in one, these pre-GSB workshops are for you. Less talk, all-action. RSVP today.
