The Right Tool at the Right Time in the Innovation Lifecycle (and birthday bash)

Details

Let's dive into the new year with a talk about what kinds of tools we build products with. Surveys? Prototypes? Roadmaps? Workshops? User Studies? After all, software products don't spring to life fully formed with a kanban board ready for armies of people to build features against.

Some products don't exist yet; they're just ideas waiting to be turned into well-formed problem statements! Some products are ponderous legacy applications waiting to be reborn. Some ideas need to be tested cheaply in the marketplace. Product makers need different tools at different stages of product maturity to achieve these discovery, design, implementation and distribution goals.

Join Expero cofounder and Director of Product Strategy & Design Lynn Pausic and Expero VP of Product Chris LaCava to talk about what tools — product, design, technology — they use in those different stages of software innovation. If we're in the business of building lots of related products — and most of us are — then how do we accelerate discovery and design? How do we communicate a product strategy and roadmap to our stakeholders at these different stages?

As a bonus, Expero are hosting this product party during their weeklong celebration of the company's 20th anniversary. The office will be kitted out for a party, and we can bug more than the usual number of them for their insights on building software products. Please bring your questions, your ideas, and -- most importantly -- your networks of people who enjoy learning or teaching about the wonderful challenge of bringing software products to life.

COVID-19 safety measures

We understand the Omicron wave is sweeping through Houston we very much appreciate those who are feeling the sniffles or other aches and pains to join us for the next product party instead.
The event host is instituting the above safety measures for this event. Meetup is not responsible for ensuring, and will not independently verify, that these precautions are followed.
