Kicking off node in 2015

To kick off 2015 we're going to bring it back to basics with a short talk from Kevin about the state of node in the new year. Some topics included will be

• What is io.js and should I be scared of it?

• Who is using node and what are they doing with it?

• Cool packages Kevin has found

After that we'll pair up and take a look at some workshops on http://nodeschool.io so bring along your laptops. Ideally with node installed on them http://nodejs.org/ .

With a new year comes some exciting new changes to the node meetup. A big welcome to Jacob Duval from Mish Guru who has come on board as an organiser. We're also going to be regularly running the meetup on the last Thursday of each month so put it in your calendars.

Everyone is welcome, even if you're just coming along for beer, pizza and a side of javascript.
