The Intersection of Music Production and App Development: All you need to know
Details
Speaker:
David Chavera is a local Music Producer and DJ based in San Antonio, TX.
David teaches Music Production through his in-person and online classes.
Using his background in teaching and engineering, David focuses on teaching Music Production as a skill and thought process, rather than just teaching a particular software.
A native San Antonian, he has a vested interest in pushing the city forward as a tech powerhouse.
When he's not pursuing music, he loves to go on runs, and enjoy complete silence (because too much of a good thing is not good! ).
In today's modern and digital world, the tools to build something-- anything at all -- are at our disposal. This is also true in the field of Music Production.
In this talk, I will be discussing the intersection of Music Production and App Development in 3 segments:
The first portion of my talk I will be giving a brief overview of studio equipment.
The second portion of my talk I will be talking about the different types of music software, and how they (more or less) emulate their analog components in the professional studio.
The third and final portion of my talk I will be focusing on the programming component: specifically ,I'll be talking about the creative ways in which developers can dive into this world of music software.
I will be discussing how one can write entire musical performances with code using languages such as Chuck, and I'll also be talking about how developers can design their own music production apps using unconventional methods such as the graphical programing language known as Pure Data.
