The list of famous artists who took inspiration from Montmartre is long:
Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pierre Brissaud, Alfred Jarry, Jacques Villon, Raymond Duchamp-Villon, Jan Avril, Paul Verlaine, Henri Matisse, André Derain, Camille Pissarro, Piet Mondrian, Suzanne Valadon, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Maurice Utrillo, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Salvador Dalí, Langston Hughes, Raoul Dufy, Théophile Steinlen, Josephine Baker, Le Corbusier, Amedeo Modigliani, Django Reinhardt, Gen Paul,...and more recently, Woody Allen...

Imagine yourself in a room full of talented artists and intellectuals...people just like you, who live life to the fullest, who embrace creativity and chase risk fearlessly...as you slowly sip a delicious Bordeaux, you hear the lilting words of a poem that you assume must have been written by someone obscurely famous in the 18th century...until you realize the handsome man standing next to you just wrote it a few hours ago...the ink still wet on the paper...you blush coyishly at this discovery, when suddenly some of the best jazz you've ever heard starts banging out of the white piano across the room...you walk over and melt as you watch a mysterious stranger lend her voice to the music while you are suddenly transported back to the 1920's...you turn around and someone's pouring you another glass of wine...to your surprise, you discover that across the table someone is painting a portrait of you...and you've never looked so good! This is a night of magic and possibilities...anything can happen at La Bohemian Soiree in Montmartre!

Chrysopée

http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/e/c/2/600_446716066.jpeg

Site www.chrysopee.infoFB: https://www.facebook.com/chrysopee.info

Thomas Lehout

http://photos4.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/e/d/9/600_446716089.jpeg

Thomas Lehout likes to tell stories. He draws from a mixed background of formal education (master's degree in film) and a diverse career path, (video editor, camera-man, director, photographer). He is also a blend of culture (French and Canadian, having lived in both countries) and passions. Growing up in a family devoted to public service, he mysteriously found himself allured by film: moving pictures. From writing, to framing, to editing, Thomas began experimenting with the many ways to express images in motion. He wrote and directed his first few short films, exploring both fiction and documentary. Torn between a desire to capture the real world and invent stories, one day he discovered an old analog camera in his father's cellar...a captivating object that he immediately claimed as his own. He realized it was the perfect way to bridge his two fascinations: a still picture could capture a moment of reality, a snippet of real life with its own unique story, with a range of interpretations, as seen in the eyes of the viewer. Photography offered an exceptional platform to convey stories in both a simple and complete way. Everything can be a subject, the foundations for a story: a portrait, a movement, a landscape, an event, a light, a man, a woman, a crowd, an old person or a child. Through the fusion of diversity, Thomas aims to continue to fuel his stories -whether they are written, visual, still, or in motion. Site www.pictures-tom.com

"A bohemian is a ‘citizen of the world’ to whom sensual and artistic necessities are primordial, and to whom norms and traditions of bourgeois society seem frivolous, arbitrary, and hypocritical. In Montmartre, this type of lifestyle was to find its apogee." -Federico Rosa

"I am inspired by the appearance of a new Bohemian of the new millennium." -John Malkovich
