It's Mark Mothersbaugh's Birthday! Let's raise a glass...
Details
Mark Mothersbaugh was born on May 18, 1950. He co-founded the new wave band Devo, known by most of us for the 80s jam "Whip It." I learned his name from Wes Anderson films; Mark has scored a lot of them! Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums, and more.
We'll meet at Texas Ale Projects at 1 p.m. They usually have food trucks on Saturday, too. Then at 2 p.m. feel free to join me on a quick walk to Site 131 gallery, where they have a sculpture show called 3 in 3D, curated by John Pomara.
Not excited to drink to Mark's birthday? Here are a few other creators born this weekend:
- Bertrand Russell 1872
- Walter Gropius 1883
- George Strait 1952
- Tina Fey 1970
- (Jens) "Jeb" Bergensten 1979
Let's hang out and hear what we've been reading, listening to, watching and looking at. (As always, the whole birthday thing is just an excuse to get together and celebrate the Arts and Humanities.)
