Interested in developing your communication and leadership skills? Consider MacEwan Toastmasters (http://mtm8756.toastmastersclubs.org)!

How Does It Work?

The Toastmaster meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure setting.

There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another's presentations. This evaluation process is a key part of the program’s success.

Meeting participants also give impromptu speeches (Table Topics) on assigned topics, conduct meetings (Chairperson skills) and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.

Members learn communication skills by working through a series of communication and leadership manuals.

Whether you consider yourself a "scared stiff" speaker or someone who is fairly confident speaking to a crowd, Toastmasters can help you further you communication, leadership and mentoring skills.
